IBA Confucius Institute

IBA Confucius Institute for Business, Culture and Language is an established collaboration between Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance and the IBA International Business Academy Kolding. The aim of IBA Confucius Institute is to strengthen educational and business cooperation between China and Denmark, as well as to support and promote the development of Chinese language education.

The collaboration, across all of the different activities we organize, enables participants to bring different cultures closer together, and to gain a better understanding of the Chinese culture and lifestyle. A good understanding of any country and its culture has to be built around various perspectives seen through multiple lenses, and to be pursued alongside stakeholders both near and afar. At our Confucius Institute we are therefore delighted to work with partners from local government, local companies, the Music Confucius Institute at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, the local Chinese communities, as well as local schools and educational institutions.

Together with these partners we organize language courses, business forums, study tours to China, cultural programmes, art, food and musical events, attracting participants from across International Business Academy and the local community.

The aim of the Confucius Institute

  • To strengthen educational and business cooperation between China and Denmark.
  • To support and promote the development of Chinese language education.
  • To increase mutual understanding and friendship among people in China and Denmark.

History

IBA Confucius Institute was established on 28 October 2015 - first as Confucius Classroom, and then upgraded later toConfucius Institute in 2018.

Since then, we have relished the process of bringing numerous cultural events and workshops to audiences throughout the southern region of Denmark, helping to promote awareness and understanding of China, its language, its history, and its business opportunities.

Our vibrant events calendar has enabled members of the public, as well as the business world, staff and students, to access and explore China’s rich heritage and culture.

Since 2015 we have offered many different opportunities to engage with China - from Chinese business forums, to lectures, to dumpling-making workshops and tea ceremonies, as well as musical performances.

We are proud of the impact IBA Confucius Institute has had since its inauguration, and of the partnerships we have established. We look forward to hosting many more exciting events and facilitating closer international working relationships.
